How does it work?

The CryoPen treatment uses a jet of concentrated nitrous oxide to freeze unwanted skin lesions.

The nitrous oxide is an extremely cool -89°C and is applied to the skin under high pressure. This freeze the water in the targeted cells. When water freezes, it expands and forms ice. This expansion of the ice breaks the cell membranes and walls, destroying the cell. Your body then reabsorbs the broken, damaged, and dead cells.

The treated area therefore dies and eventually falls off or is absorbed. If you are treating a protrusion like a skin tag or wart, it will fall off as the cells have created something ‘extra’ to your skin. If you are treating blemishes such as age spots or sun spots, these damaged cells will be absorbed and flushed out.
