Is jawline slimming the same as jaw filler?
No, these are two different treatments that use two different solutions, but they can be combined for a full holistic jawline contouring treatment.
Jawline slimming uses Botox and works to relax the muscle beneath the skin, stopping it from contracting and therefore reducing the overall size of the jawline. This gives a slimming effect and also helps to treat jawline clenching and bruxism.
Jawline filler instead introduces dermal filler into the skin, or the tissue, to add more definition and structure. These use dermal fillers made of hyaluronic acid.

What is bruxism and how does this treatment help?
Bruxism is a condition that sees you involuntarily clenching your jaw and/or grinding your teeth. This commonly happens when you are sleeping, though it does happen during the day absentmindedly. Bruxism can cause wear on your teeth, tooth and jaw ache, and headaches in your temples. By using Botox in the jaw muscle, your jaw is prohibited from clenching as strongly as therefore reduces your symptoms. It is not a cure, but a way to successfully manage this. This treatment is one of lesser known uses of the versatile medical toxin.

How long will my jaw slimming results last?
Your results could last up to 4-6 months, and sometimes possibly longer, depending on the client. They will slowly fade over time as the treatment wears off, and this is where you may consider repeat appointments to maintain them.
-
How long until I see my results after treatment?
Botox treatments can take around 2 weeks to settle in and become visible, though you could see them developing around 2-3 days after treatment. This depends on the patient, as everybody is different, but before the end of the 2 weeks you should see your results.

Will Botox in my jaw stop me from chewing?
No, Botox in your jaw and masseter muscles will not stop you from chewing, eating, speaking, singing, or yawning! You can still move your jaw, though not to the extent you previously could with regards to clenching. Think of this similar to Botox in your frown lines – you can still move your eyebrows, but you cannot frown. Therefore, you can still use your jaw, just not clench.
